EMAUS WORKSHOP

DAY 1: Two weeks ago, some people from Emaus came to explain us the importance of Fair Trade. We dealt with them about the different views and aspects of the people from their project. 
Then, they explained us the most important aims of it.


DAY 2:

Last Friday we had the chance to talk about an Indian Emaus cooperator, exactly the founders daughter "Mon".
She started explaining us how was the beginning of Emaus and what are the main aims of it.
She started working with her neighbors. She contributed in a lot of economical activities  and also she got in contact with Belgium because  they wanted to support the workshop Emaus has given them a lot of interaction.

Nowadays as we know in these countries, people don't work in good contitions and even don't have enough salary to bring up their children and their own. So Emaus program, tried to defend the rights of these workers. They have done a lot of work to achieve it and nowadays plenty of the workers work in much better conditions.
They earn for what they work. I mean, they earn a fair quantity of money. The products they sell are equivalent to the money they have received  for fabricating it.
ON the other hand, there are some products and they keep on giving solutions to avoid them such as environmental solutions women rights( women don't earn as much as men)

*They have some educational programs to help them. Now, thanks to it more people has the chance to develop their facilities of life.

OUR OPINION:

This experience was different from the ones we have done before. A new experience, a new exercise... we had the chance to be in contact with people that work  mainly helping other people's life. We shared ideas and different opinions and it was a great moment.

Hello everybody! These days we are going to be working with a ONG fundation: "Vicente Ferrer" and we are going to do a poster about it.

Vicente Ferrer Foundation is an ONG committed to the process of transforming one of the poorest and neediest regions of India, Anantapur.

Vicente Ferrer has been working with the most disadvantaged fornearly 60 years .

Its main objective is to improve society

2013 speaking english!

Hello! As you can imagine, we´ve enjoyed a lot our christmas holidays. 

We went to Donosti at night to celebrate the new year and we met two girls from England.
At first, they didn´t know that we were able to speak in english but when they saw that we could undertand it perfectly, they started speaking to us! We had a lot of fun with them and we enjoyed a lot that day.

Hi guys! Here we are arranged to work on a completely different project. What do you thing it is going to be? As the tittle says, we are going to be dealing with an affair which we suppose it is quite interesting for you  and for as as well!

Minority languages

During the 1.ebaluation we have been working on different minority languages and we have studied that a minority language is a language spoken by a minority of the population of a territory.

Here we have, some linguistic communities that form no majority in any country, but whose language has the status of an official language in at least one country:

• Tamil language: 70 million speakers, official status in Sri Lanka and Singapore, regional status in India
• Amharic language: 25 million speakers, official status in Ethiopia
• Kurdish language: 22 million speakers, official status in Iraq
• Afrikaans language: 13 million first or second language speakers (16 million speakers with basic knowledge), official status in South Africa, recognized regional language in Namibia
• Galician language: 3-4 million speakers, regional official status in Galicia, Spain.
• Welsh language: 791,000 speakers, regional official status in Wales, UK.
• Basque language: 665,800 speakers, regional official status in the Basque Country (autonomous community) and Navarre in Spain. Although It has no official status in the Northern Basque Country in France.
• Irish language: 391,470 native speakers (1.66 million with some knowledge), official status in the Republic of Ireland and an officially recognised minority language in Northern Ireland, UK.
• Māori language: 157,110 speakers, official status in New Zealand
• Romansh language: 60,000 speakers, official status in Switzerland (Graubünden)
